Has anybody ever painted the inside of the speedo?

As above...got some white SRI clocks during the week and while I was admiring them I wondered what it would look like painted inside? You will notice that if you take off the front clear plastic that the bit that surrounds the dials is textured black plastic. I think that if this was sprayed a darkish silver (to try and look like metal) and I have a conversion from you-know-who it will look pretty damn cool!
What do you think? Has anybody on here already done it? Pics if you have!
    Thanks

Seen one carbon dipped, very nice.

I have a carbon surround on mine but in theory you should be able to spray it whatever colour floats your boat.

Exactly how I pictured it. Looks smart! Just painted my console steel grey I think I'll go with that.

Wonder how it would look with the outside surround colour coded the same as the clock front? looking at the pic it might give the clocks a greater depth look. Might look pants or very effective, not sure which until someone tries it.
