    Egr valve - fault codes

    I have astra MK4, 1.6 petrol, 2000 model

My car's Engine warning light started to come, after connecting it to the computer it was noticed that EGR valve is having issues..

I replaced the EGR valve with a brand new one and after sometime the engine managment light again comes on and goes off

On connecting the computer the fault codes changes from:
    EGR VALVE - PRESENT
    to
    EGR VALVE - INTERMITTENT

    Please advice

Non Delphi ones (from my own and others experience) are usually more trouble than they are worth. My EGR was on the way out but no light on dash lit, bought a cheap pattern part, within 2 days the emmissions light came on.

Sent it back, Delphi one now fitted, been fine for months. Cheap brands are not worth the few pounds you save

if it is not a genuine Delphi one then it is unlikely it will work correctly, there are alot of cheap pattern EGR's out there because vauxhalls suffer greatly with EGR problems so you will find numerous copies available. if you look on the EGR it should be stamped 'Delphi' or will have a vauxhall part No starting with the No 9
