    Another coilover thread!!!!!

I'm looking at getting some coilovers for my coupe.

    I have about a £600 budget.

Whats the best make to get? I don't want a really harsh ride though.

I've been looking at the following:

    Spax rsx coilover kit.

    FK highsport kit.

    Gaz coilover kit.

Is there anyother make out there that i haven't looked into?

    Any suggestions would be great!

I would guess some here would say Gaz, I know a few members who reckon highly of the quality.

Some companies will create a custom shock/spring combo which will probably give a better ride quality than coilovers.

I have always used fk highsports great handling with some comfort not normally associated with coilys if you need a second opinion ask the vw lads the originators of going low

    they are all good brands

look at the prices and what they feature and decide from there

I know the Gaz coilovers offer adjustable damping and I think the Spax do, not sure about the FK's

You can get a basic set of KW's from LMF for that price. They are only adjustable for height at this price though. I got this set and whilst I'm happy with them, the ride can be very hard over rough surfaces. I would therefore as above, recommend a set where you can adjust the damping

Right my fellow AOC members, the time has come to order my coilovers!

I'd like to order them in the next few hours, but I don't know what coilover units to buy, please help me decide!

What are the fk's like? & what about the apex coilover kit that venom motorsport sell like?

Or should I just wait & buy some at pvs?

The above should be sufficient info for you. Not much else to say. If you buy cheap, sometimes they can fail, sometimes they last for years. My advice would be, if you have a limited budget and want comfort, a set of springs and shocks is preferable.

If you want comfort from coilovers, you will have to spend a fair amount on a set that are adjustable for damping and rebound. Any of the above suggestions, Spax, FK, Gaz, and KW would be a good bet.

I'd get them from somewhere reputable and reasonably priced like LMF, unless there are bargains to be had at PVS. The last 2 years I was there, there were none.

weitec do decent set for the price your willing to pay! just put set on ma coupe but depending your wheel size the rear will rub with 18s and front when full lock!.. mines 40 front and 50 rear now but had to torch the wheelarch liners and bend them up so the wheels wouldnt rub.

coilovers are the best for track, but for general road use shocks and springs are better for ride
