All seems legal ... except for the badge! Rules apparently state that the badge can only be of a country, i.e. England etc or the EU Badge/flag. All other badges aren't allowed. However ... saying that I have SXi as my badge, and it passed an MOT last year.

Their small print says that the BS Kite Mark and postcode text which is required to be on the plate will be on it. This is a legal requirment, which again my plates do not have, but still passed an MOT. A friend of mine has had the MOT on his Leon failed because of his plates. Got them from the same guy as me, and don't have the "small print".

The fonts are 100% legal for sure.

    No they are not legal!!

You have to have in very small print, a small referance to a garage where the car belonged

    DVLA will advise you

I got pulled and paid a £30 fine

Bar the Badge they're legal, it has the postcode and kitemark so indicates where the plates are made on them so nothing to worry about majorly.

The letter spacing is fine, about 10mm, the font is fine, its not italic either

You'd have to be pretty unlucky to get pulled over the badge.

Just to clarify this - Road Legal Plates must bear the name and postcode / phone number of the company that made the plates.

Pretty unlucky to get fined for that....

Wrong. You have to have the postcode of the company that made the plates and the BS number, along with legal font and spacing. If you have a logo, you can have the GB, or country relevant badge (i've got the St George's cross and ENG on mine)

    Yeh i know

Sorry for this but, if i was wearing a shorter skirt i would have got off,

But the police officer was female anyway

I wouldn't care but i had changed my plates because one had a crack in it,
and explained it would take minutes to exchange back to the old ones

My faith in the law had just gone down the drain,

She must be out for promotion

Trouble is i am always getting pulled

Because this car has all the mods

TBH most cars on the road today could well be illegal in some way or another

    regards
