I have a custom sub enclosure built to the shape of a boot corner which helps a fair bit, it is then held down with some really strong velcro tape, works well

Velcro tape will work a treat. I know Glacious has secured his down with velcro, got 2 strips of strong stuff from Tesco for about £3, works well, sub doesn't seem to slide around the boot.

I built a false floor. 2x2 underneath with 12 or 18mm MDF on top. box sits directly on the 2x2 with the false floor all around it. Holds it in place really tight + you can get access to under the false floor, so I have all my crap stored under there like a few tools, show plates etc. Helps keep the boot a bit tidier.

Velcro will not hold a sub box in place in the event of an accident.
Only safe way is to secure it down with screws/brackets.
