i need help litres of water in my footwells

hi i bought my 51 plate mk4 astravan 1.7dti (with rear seats) since i bought it end of jan 2010 it has been sat on a flat driveway, today i drove it for the first time and noticed mould on carpet behind front seats, pulled carpet and foam up to find sooooooo much water, front seemed dry until i tore and pulled up carpet and thats SOAKED aswell i rekon there must be 4-7 litres of water on the floor and in the foam!

    any ideas people??

coolant level hasnt moved, so i provisonally ruled out matrix,
i held a hose on windscreen for a while which didnt turn up anything!
    theres no sunroof either!!!

    HELP ME PLEASE!!!! thanks Ash.

its usually the seal on the windscreen at the bottom where it will leak and run down the back of the dash and into the footwells but you seems toof ruled that out!

Do you have the OEM front speakers or have you changed them?
Oem one's have a protective plate at the back to protect speakers from water.
When i changed speakers at front, i had the same problem with you. When it was raining or i was washing the car, water was entering under carpets, following this path: Window glass & mirror-> inside door->speaker->sill.

If you see an OEM speaker, it has a plastic cover. Aftermarket speakers doesn't have that + they have bigger depth. I solve that by making a "roof" for the speaker from a flower pot...

was your focus a 2002>2006 by any chance?
a common fault on the focus is the pollen filter seal would go and the water would get in!
my mate from ford told me that!!
