    Anti-Speeding couses?

Got my first two speeding tickets in 25 yrs today. Two fixed camera incidents recording 37 mph and 38mph. (notice of intention to prosecute). I assume at least 3 points (aND £60) is on the cards for one, and hopefully a 'speed course' and £60 for the other??? Does that sound the 'norm' folks? Also-what is the contents of the 'theory' test-course thing?

Speed awareness course if usually at your cost if I'm remembering right from my wife going on one. Was £160 and took a full day - you have some theory then some driving which is assessed, then signed off at the end providing the driving was OK.

Is the speeding course not only offered for sub 35mph. Might be over the threshold for it.

Don't think so, my wife went on one for a 70mph in a 50 zone (roadworks on motorway).

it seems to be completely random for who gets offered the course

how much it costs and how long it takes varies between areas

mine was 60 quid and half a day long
there was no driving in mine it was purely theory and while full of crap about how doing 31 in a 30 will kill all the kids in a 10 mile radius there was some useful information (which i have since forgotten)

I think you are nearest here Mat. Just spoke to a friend who was caught at 37mph. £60 fine and the course--no points. I hope the same for my first ticket. A £60 fine and 3 points is on the cards for the second. I pray There are no more in the post. That's it. 30mph from now on, and sat nav 24-7!!!!.
