right i have been on here before try for some help and was very helpful.
I have a 2000 astra van with the 1.7td engine fitted (older vauxhall engine) Had a full engine rebuild put it all back together and was ok. Apart from an intermetent problem of it starting. Now it always started but on some occassions would take about 40 seconds of turning over to work. My dad (machanic of 35 years) done a service and now the problem is every time.
First of all we thought fuel problem....So we checked the top of the fuel filter fine...still thought it might be that so replaced it. Someone on here suggested the spill pipes so i replaced them...We even went as far as testing the van with out the filter to see if there was a leak but still no difference.
Then we took it to a local vauxhall man that me old man knows and had him plug it in and try investigate further. He came back that it could be the crank shaft sensor...replaced and still no difference.
We have replace the glow plugs as someone else suggested this.
Now we are stuck.....when the van finally starts i have no problems with it what so-ever it drives lovely.
There is alot of talk on here about fuel pumps but i have no management light and no warning light also as i thought surley if the van runs perfect is it the fuel pump.
Please can someone help.
thanks in advanced lee
