    How not to do

I have an issue with my mot test on one of my cars Z18xe coupe bertone, every year, re emissions

I have replaced both lamda sensors with new gm parts, the Throttle body is new gm, the AFM was replaced last year

I had a qualified diagnostik check, with no clear result,

On driving the car, after a few miles the spanner light appears on the dash, and remains on until the next time.

The car runs with no problems at all, in fact superbly, perhaps a little heavy on juice only maybe?

So not to be defeated i buy a new gm AFM

On pulling the car out of the garage, i ran over it

I have four cats and they must have been playing with it, after dislodging it off a shelf,(they are like that believe me)

BUT to leave it under my rear wheel!!!

Now before someone says "get rid of the cats" or alike

TBH i'd rather have the cats than the afm anyday

I'm wondering if anyone has the same problem

IE i know my mot station well and it takes him several attempts to pass emissions test, i regard myself as "lucky"

    Regards Paula

PS: NO SILLY REMARKS ABOUT MY CATS PLEASE(reply and your an Ar-h-le)

No, my cat doesn't go in my garage.

I take it you replaced your AFM?

    Hi Paula
can you not try an afm of one of your other astra's ? ,
please tell me you don't let the cat's play in the garage with car in there ,
I'm an animal lover but I couldn't risk the car being damaged by something falling due to them playing or scratched paintwork from claws

No i havn't sourced a new afm yet, but i will

Got some glue handy ha ha

Just a thaught when you see an afm smashed up, one can see why the're so pricy, lots of intrecate parts etc

if your spanner light comes on, there has to be a code stored that could help point to the problem, but with the MOT tester having to do a couple of runs to get the emissions right, would point to a cat not getting hot enough maybe

Hiya Phil TBH the problem hasn't realy bothered me that much because the car doesn't falter,But i would like to find out what it is.

Just mot time is nearly due, and i had soursed the gm afm at a reasonable price, knowing they always fail in the future anyway, if you get my drift.

I will try my other cars afm before she goes to a new home.

Finally i dont let my cats in the garage on purpose but they tend to follow me around,(quite touching realy and i don't mind) and often when i'm in and out of the garage one is left behind,

    regards
