    ceramic coating

Has anyone had there standard cast manifold ceramic coated??

I have had a quick read on it and from what i can gather it just stops as much heat coming off the turbo/manifold into your engine bay and keeps it on the turbo, am i right???

if so then i would guess this is bad for the standard manifold as it likes to crack as it is without anymore added heat!

Anyone with any experience or info then please do have your say

As above, I have a Dbilas manifold that has been ceramic coated.

It stays MUCH cooler. You can push the car hard and still touch the manifold 10 minutes later!
Not cheap to have done though.

heres a good page on it lad.

    http://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/ceramic.htm

my turbo is being upgraded as we speak, and im plannign to have it ceramically coated. althought, since the vxr turbo is an all in 1 piece (manifold and exhaust side housing), it is costing me more, about £200.

TD didnt reccommend it being coated as its a small tubby and it may be more logical to spend that money on my future plans, garrett gt3071. their gonna call me today to tell me the story.

Thats what i have read about it but if the heat doesnt come off the turbo where does it go or does it just get rid of the heat quicker so there aint as much build up of it???

I had heard it was about 200 notes but worth it if your spending money having the turbo upgraded anyway too.
