    replacing the thermostat

    how easy is it to replace the thermostat on my coupe?
    its a 2000 1.8 coupe

    easy mate recently done mine, makesure the engine is cold open the cap for the water, undo the two hoses comin from the thermostat, there is 2 torx screws in the thermostat ones alot longer than the other. you will also need to remove the sensor just unplug it. then clean around the block, grease around the new thermostat with the NEW seal supplied with thermostat and screw back on with hoses.

    You will lose a little water thats fine just top it up afterwards and keep a eye on the water level after a 20min run.

    Easy job. To make things neater, I'd use the drain tap at the bottom o/s side of the radiator to drain the coolant. If you connect a short length of garden hose and direct it into a basin there should be minimal spillage
