    *speed-trap flashes. Consequences???*

Early hours Monday morn--in a rush, little other traffic and doing 55mph? on a dual carriageway 40zone, crossing junction.--There was a quick succession of blue flashes as though being tailed by a speed car. What was that? A speed trap or maybe an out of view ambulance. (I hope!) 45 mins later near stockport in a 30 zone doing 40-45. Two quick white flashes but couldn't see any 'flash spot' or bulbs. S--t--more stress waiting for postman. What percentage of these 'flashes' result in fines and points. Good info much appreciated--ta--sc16!

If there was two quick flashes it would have recorded the picture with your plate.Speed trap/cameras and traffic light camera all result in 3 points and £60 fine if you werent dangerously over the speed limit i.e if you double the speed limit you would be looking at a harder punishment

Are ALL of these 'flashes' processed?

usually speed cameras are visibly marked, and speed cameras signs are posted within 1km of any speed cameras.

Cheers Law--these are useful things to know. It's astonishing that apart from the odd day or driving abroad,c the driving scene has changed dramatically over the last 10 yrs. I've done plenty of bike riding but it's a completely different view from a car. There is a false sense of security, no wind, engine noise and less knowledge that you are being watched! I might take a drive back over the same route and see if I can see the camera. What is the said flash like?? Is it an obvious 'bang' in the eyes or does it (like mine) seem as though its60-70 feet away on side of road? A friend said 'loads' are not processed for various reasons.????

if your local to were it happened, just go back to were you saw these flashes in the daytime, and look for a speed camra, the second set of flashs sound like a speed camara, but the others not so much. would be doubley unlucky if it was

Yes Bludshot, but with the blue flashes, there were also newspaper taxis in yellow and green, being driven by meanies---lol,. I'm sure you're right. I've never heard of blue ones and the er!-real 2 white flashes happened when I was doing perhaps a little more than 40. Either way,--must learn the lesson that I get nowhere more than a minute or two quicker when speeding on a short journey. Not worth it. I just hope I hear nothing more of it.Ta folks!
