just need some quick advice on Coolant amounts, cheers

Ok i know its a bit late in the day to be asking this as i'm planning on doing this, this afternoon but ...

I'm gonna change my thermostat out for a new one, from what i hear its easy enough but i understand its probably best to do a coolant change aswell.

I was just wondering how much coolant i'll be looking at using? At the moment i have 5ltrs. its genuine GM but doesn't say that i can mix it or not either.

Will 5ltrs be enough or should i quickly nip out to get another 5?

i just want to be sure before i drain it and then find i dont have enough and have to wait for someone else to get me another load of the stuff.

    Thanks in advance

Unless it is pre-mixed, the Vauxhall pink stuff needs mixed 50/50 with water. 5L should be more than enough, unless you have a 10Litre coolant capacity

Usualy, depending on engine, the capacity is about 3.5 litres of 50/50 mix.

thanks again for all your help

i swapped out the thermostat today, flushed the rad and refiilled the coolant. I can safely say the hardest part was getting the rubber pipes off the old thermostat as one of them had to be soaked in warm water over lunch to get it to budge.

The car runs so much better now, everything seems smoother etc (could just be me trying to find someextra positives from todays work)

so for my day off tomorrow its a new fuel filter, external clean and interior sort out aswell as ordering my incar pc and wiring in my screen to the lighter socket
