    has anyone changed there leds??

i got a full blue set for my mk4 and had a go. got the center consol out and well i looked at it and put it back . spent about an hour pissing about and i now have a blue cig lighter.
anyone done this and was it a nightmare as it looks or is there a way of doing it with out me sitting in the car calling it a lot of swear words for abit. (i have printed out the how to guild so was just seeing if anyone has done this) Or is there any elec's in the stocky area that would help out for some redies.

If it's just the twist in bulbs, it's really simple Ben, just be patient. You'll have to literally rip out the center console to do it all, it just takes time!

The speedo etc are twist fit, heater panels are part SMD, part leaded LED and the other switch gear is leaded.

If I remember right, I mainly do mk5's...

Yeah the lights for the buttons (recirculation, a/c, heated rear windows) are smd. The dials and the surrounding numbers, pictures to dispay the settings, are the twist bulbs. (mk4)
