    Angry help please, CD player!

last week i bought a dvd player for my 1999 mk4 2.0 16v sri, so i took my old cd player out (wasnt the standard 1) and tried to fit the dvd but i needed the adapter. When i put the old 1 back in again, it was cutting out. now it will only come on when i push the eject or push the display button, but only for 3 seconds or so? Has any1 got a solution?

all the wires at the back seem fine and it isnt the cd player as i have tried my mates cd player aswell. thanks.

Have a look at the wiring, check you have not damaged anything...
Does it work just plugged in, but not back in the hole ?

when its all plugged in, i can push eject and it will eject the cd,but then turn off. no other button works apart from display, wich will only show the time for 3secs then turn off. does that in and out of the hole.
