    Any hobby modelists here?

My daughter has alot of small toy animals like puppy in my pocket, my little pony etc, some of you may know what I mean.

Its all she seems to play with.

SO I have come up with an idea to make a table for her to play with these animals on. with fields, mountains, a little castle, lakes, trees etc.

But I want to make it the best I can for her with model parts etc.

So does anyone know of any good online sites where I can buy such things from?

I looked at my local model shop but didnt have everything I was after.

It will be something like this, but with mountains, fields, trees etc, with out the trainset.

    Thanks for any help

    Well
For hills the obvious is polystyrene/xps foam on MDF Bse. (diy stores)
Woodland scenics so scatter grass that you spred over the top. availabe from most hobby shops at varying prices.
Gamesworkshop do a grass mat that can be washed for only £18. its a heavy durable 6X4 mat and a perfect start.
Trees can be brought from both GW and WS at varying prices .

    Papier-Mache.

My mum made me loads of mountains for my train set when I was little and they looked every bit as good as the stuff in the shops, and its fairly robust as long as you dont get it wet.

A castle would be fairly easy to make out of blocks of balsa wood. Trees are the only thing I'm not sure about. My little pony is quite a large scale and Hornby or Playmobil stuff would be too small.

Again, my mum made me trees using dyed pieces of sponge and matchsticks. I think using real twigs for the trunk and larger pieces of sponge would look good.

Its a bit Blue Peter but I bet she would appreciate that a lot more than off-the-peg stuff
