    what tyres fit?

    ive got 215 40 17"s on my snowflakes, will 205 40 17"s fit fine?

    The 205 refers to the trye width, so I don't see a problem. The problems only usually rise when you go bigger and the wheels begin to scrub.

    Your wheels are most likely 7J (stamped on the inner rim)

    and you have the recommended tyres fitted for the wheel,

    However there is a range of sizes of tyres that would either "sqeeze"on ie#;

    225x40x17 or reduce the width ie 205x40x17 i can see no problem with this

    It is probably best to go to a good tyre fitter and they have the expertise

    It is not realy recommended to alter the manufactures wheel, in overal dimention ie

    use 215 x 45 x 17 45mm being the profile width of the tyre, simply because you are altering the diameter of the wheel ( in this example its larger)

    This will alter your speedoreadout on the clock

    Finaly your rimms are 17 inch and you can't fit 18inch tyres on for example
