    iPhone/iPod Headunit comparrison

Having sold my Flip out Alpine i thought i would get a the Alpine IDA X305 then noticed this Parrot RKi8400.

Just wondering has any one had any experiances with either one. i have had the first generation IDA-001 so was looking at getting the new version.

just a warning, with your head units if ur planing on using them with any i-pod product over 4th gen then you will need and additional addaptor for ur devise which croses over the powere terminals otherwise you head unit will not charge them,
i got a belkin one for £25 delivered off amazon.

funkeymonkey is on about the fact that some headunit manufactures were slow to catch up when Ipods changed their charging on the 6th gen models.

I believe all the bigger makes have caught up now and I know Parrot phone kits charge fine at least

A review on how that head unit operates would be appreciated mate. I've been looking at this for a while and would love to hear how it performs. I actually pre-ordered the first version before they pulled it because of technical problems, but AFAIK these have been ironed out. Did you get the cable for steering controls too?

I noticed it on the Parrot website but it's pretty expensive. So much so, I'd probably not bother buying it. I'd rather put the money towards a Momo steering wheel with no controls on

Well I got the Parrot headunit fitted today and so far its amazing bit on confusion when first using it but im already use to it and find it easy to use.

Some small things are doing my head in though as when you get in the menu screen because it currently tells you what is selected it cuts the music off but i can turn that off so hopefully it will continue to play the music.

Its alot safer than using your mobile on the road specially with the voice control as alls you have to do is press the green button and say the persons name and it will call.

Any more questions just pm me
