    Limp Home!!!

My mk4 sxi 1.6 16v has been in limp home for the past month now!! ive read the fault codes, throttle pedal sensor and EGR valve. So
£130 new throttle pedal and sensor fitted
    £60 EGR valve fitted
Yet limp home mode still comes on after about 2 miles of driving!! fault codes now read throttle pedal sensor??
Ive read through some of the posts similar to this but non the same.
    Any ideas?? wireing ?
Im a student so im trying to aviod expensive garages!!

Can you post up the fault codes?

My car intermittently has throttle position fault codes. I have a new accelerator to go on, but I'm saving up for a new throttle body as ultimately, I think thats the source of the problem

Have you checked the wiring and plug at the throttle body for damage?

I don't have a decent fault code reader with me at the moment as im back at uni, however the one i do have doesn't come up with any fault codes at all even if the cars in limp home!
Ive not checked the wiring yet, but all looks fine under the bonnet no damage to the plugs etc.

Throttle position sensor? Is that not within the throttle body as opposed to the pedal? Or am I confused?

What brand of EGR did you fit? Anything other than Delphi tend to be useless.

thats because good old vauxhall only give access on certain code readers to the emission check enging light, the eml can only be fault code read with certain EOBD scanners that are compliant. if you are still getting fault codes for the pedal sensor even after fitting a new pedal unit then you need to suspect the throttle body next.

Im going back home in a couple of weeks so il get my mate (who is a mechanic n a good one!) to get a proper reading of the fault codes and check the wiring etc but next job i guess is checking the throttle body, hope its not to expensive!!
