Is this part common for leaking oil?

Hello im pritty sure its called the oil level sensor sits on the front of the engine and goes into the sump?

    Do these leak?

Mine seems to be but im thinking its worse cause i have the back end up on ramps so its making the car slope right forward

Basically im wondering once its back to normal level it wont leak lol?

There is a rubber o ring on that part. It has probably perished so it has started leaking oil.

I might be wrong it has been a while since I did one. I think you have to remove the lower sump and pull a clip off the sensor, then it pulls upwards out of the upper sump the o ring is around it.

to change it you need to take the sump off. you sure oil isn't leaking for the oil return pipe on the turbo (this is common) and this then lands on the top of the sump

Na pritty sure its not as ive cleaned it all up today

    Il explain a little more

My oil return is slightly seeping so will be changing that

Ive just taken anothe look all around the turbo is no oil dripping etc

You can see the sensor looking through the top and around that area is oily it wernt earlier as i cleaned it

If you look just behind the sensor theres no oil or any up the block

Hopefully when its back to ground zero and ive done the oil return gasket it should be ok

Done another little test cleaned the sump up once again put some card undernieth the turbo to act as a trap for the oil

Bloody thing still leaking but is the oil level sensor as the card was dry as you like and no oil around the turbo

Thank god its not the turbo
