    New to site

    Hi to all here,

    I am new here,
    I recently bought an astra sri, fsh with last owner only having it for a short time and 1 other previous owner.the car is an S reg 1998/9 model.One small part of bubbling rust on one arch, everywhere else is in good condition for year.I hope to have it tip top condition in the coming months.

    Any pics of your car, is it standard SRi or the Irmscher kitted version? They are generally quie reliable, but do suffer from sheared manifold studs around the thermostat (bad design of exhaut manifold which can be prone to cracking also) and possibly sensor faults, but nothing that can't be remedied.

    The 1998/99 S reg's seem to be worse off for the rust on the rear arches than the later 1999 T plate's for some reason, I remmber looking at a couple os S-plates when I was hunting for my car, and everyone I looked at seemd to be the same. My T-plate does not suffer rusty arches.
