Angry MOT and Tax time again, actually feel sick...

Went in today to get my MOT, oil changed, and front disks and pads fitted.

330quid! Add that to the 120quid I paid to get 2 tyres fitted so it would pass its mot and the 105 quid for tax and im down 550quid in one day to keep the astra on the road!

    Not a good day

Well since buying the car I have bought... (3months total)

Cambelt full kit and waterpump = 220
Front Brake discs and pads = £165
    4 New Tyres, (2 x NCT5's (£180) and 2x Yokohama C Drive (£106).
    Bought 6 months tax (£82.50)

    Oil Changed, Sparkplugs changed.

And in next few weeks have new insurance to pay out, along with MOT and Fuel Filter/Air Filter to be changed.

And I'm about to buy an exhaust system and so on.

All in all spent about 750 and am still yet to pay out more... lol.

you could have (and probibly should have) done all that except tyres yourself before you went for MOT, oil change is a 10 min job, breaks need a specific tool to open the calipers but are easy to do, and if you buy tyres online and have them fitted its usually cheaper to get them fitted at some back street tyre shop, go in when there quiet and just offer a bit of cash or like me, get to know somw one who works at ats or something and get them to do a sunday job.

not havin a pop, i used to spend £££ on service but with a little investment, a haynes manual (shh dont tell anyone) and good advice on here and i have saved literally thousands.

£240 for TAX last time on my GSi, heart breaking.
