2001 Astra 1.8 Bertone Coupe has died

Hi all , about 2 days ago my service light came on , and the engine sounded quite 'rattley'. I was going to service it myself this weekend. I bought the car about 6 weeks ago. Yesterday on the way home the engine cut out , now it will not start. I managed to tow it home with the help of a mate. The engine turns over but will not start. Sorry if it sounds a bit vague, but has anyone heard of something similar? I am taking to the local garage, a decent place, on monday. I have a feeling it is something serious

    Cheers

it could be anything. the timming belt could have snaped or jumped a tooth.

It looks like the belt is intact but seems to have slipped ie it's still on the pulleys but has slid away from the inside. Could this be fixable , or will it have caused some damage to the valves?

the belt should sit central on the pulleys not on the inside anyway, easy to tell if it has slipped. slip off the front timing belt covers and turn the crank pulley over and see if the timing marks all line up. what is the fault code stored from the service light

Ok , I just did the pedal test , did it a few times to make sure.
I got the following codes , and googled the results.
    1130 - 02 sensor - signal switching time error ( sensor 1 )
    0140 - 02 sensor - post cat sensor
    0325 - Knock Signal Voltage High C-23
    1320 - 02 sensor incorrect signal
1326 - Knock Control Maximum Spark Limit Cylinder 1 C-23
1327 - Knock Control Maximum Spark Limit Cylinder 2 C-23
1328 - Knock Control Maximum Spark Limit Cylinder 3 C-23
1329 - Knock Control Maximum Spark Limit Cylinder 4 C-23

Just before the test I removed the coil pack and re-connected it - that may be the reason for the last 4 ? I am hoping the Cat has died as opposed to a mechanical balls up.

Would really appreciate any thoughts , and also let me know if I am totally wrong - Cheers

No idea about the codes , apart from the obvious?
