astra mk 4 trip computer display

ive got the trip computer display in my mk 4 (not standard) and recently in the cold cold weather the display goes shitty and suffers from missing pixels, when the weather is fine it goes back to normal...

    anyone else seen this?

Can't see how the temperature could possibly make a difference. Is it not just that you notice it when its cold outside. What exactly happens, pixel wise are there just some missing?? can you read any of the display at all??

Yes I have this and there's no fix apart from buying a new display

i think its to do with connections expanding with cold and hot, for example if its frozen outside there could be one vertical line, maybe more of missing pixels, if i turn the heating right up they eventually re-appear, it only seems to suffer in winter months, summer its fine. vauxhall is around £360 for a mk 4 trip comp display, shocking, the way i see it is that if the part is worth that amount of money then it shouldnt fail at all and last the lifetime of the car regardless of abit cold weather, one thing however, abit skoosh of wd40 in the connector for the trip comp made quite an improvement!
