    Opel SRi-T 03

    Hello AOC Members,

Do you know if the 03 SRi-T has a neutral switch in the gearbox which informs the ECU of it's location?

No, none of the manual gearboxes would have such a switch.

You would find newer models do, just not 03-04 Very disappointing as I want to install remote start, any suggestions? I want it so that the car wont attempt to start in gear, only in neutral.

Try fitting a Clifford Alarm & an Intellistart remote starter.
It's designed so that it can be fitted to either a manual or an auto.
Basically, you arm the alarm with the engine running. It locks the car & arms the alarm with the engine running, then shuts down the engine. This means the alarm knows the car is safely parked & the gearlever is in the neutral position.
The alarm will then monitor for doors opening or sensors triggering.
Provided the alarm hasn't been triggered or any doors have been opened whilst it was armed you can restart the engine when you return.
If anyone opens a door or the bonnet or touches the brakes it will shut down the engine imediately.
If you disarm the alarm it will unlock the car, but keep the engine running. Once you are in the car put your keys in the ignition, turn to the on position & touch the brake pedal, this will release the alarm/intellistart control & return it to normal.
The Intellistart also has a "Short Stop" feature. You can safely leave the engine running, with the doors locked & the keys in your possesion whilst you go into a shop for a few minutes.
