Question Bonnet not "popping" - Suggestions / Help on releasing it

As subject I can pull the bonnet release cable and it feels like there is tension on it, but it just doesn't seem to want to release the bonnet.

Has anyone ever had this one / or got any suggestions on sorting it? As I've done a search and people have said about the cable moving / adjusting it although I can't get to it!

    Hopefully it's an easy fix?

As I've been thinking worst come to the worst I've got three choices:

    1) Get the car on a lift, undo the bottom bumper fixings, pull it away slightly and see if I can get up to the release from underneath.

    2) Smash the grill out and some how get to the release. Don't really want to smash my OPC grill though!

    3) Drill through the bonnet and drill out the release catch. Again don't want to do this for obvious reasons!

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Hi Mark ive had this problem,
    Try this please
Have someone lever the release from inside of the car(back n forth) whilst someone firmly put weight on the top of the bonnet wher the catch is(bouncing it up and down) Try several times please BUT be careful as to not dent the bonnet put weight of flat hands around the front endge where its strongest'

If you say there is tention on the wire then it may just be sticking,

if it does release make sure you use lots of wd40 and work it in, grease around etc

Failing this go through the grill, even then its very difficult, cant do it from underneath,

    Hope you succeed

as above - have sum1 sit on the bonnet whilst pulling the release lever inside the car.

obviously dont get ur fattest mate over but should be enough

once its open u can either adjust the cable - or replace the cable

ive got a pair of brand new cables with levers here if u need one

Thanks for the advice guys I will be trying the someone bouncing on the bonnet while I pull the cable this weekend.

Failing that it sounds like a grill smash job.

GeordieBandit how much are you looking for the cable?

    Sorted it in the end.

I had to bounce on the bonnet a few times while someone pulled the cable.

Had to adjust the cable and pull the bonnet release pin down afterwards, although it seems fine now.
