    Firework photography

As you know I've been playing around with nightime photography with my Nikon D90 and tonight took some of the fireworks that have been constantly going off here in China to celebrate the lunar end to the Chinese New Year celebrations - I doubt that this actually means the end of the fireworks, but there you go.

    Enjoy - any comments welcome.

To give you an idea of how far I am away when taking the shots (most have been cropped):

I bought a new Macro close-up lens a couple of weeks ago so I'll be having a play with that over the next few weeks too.

Yes took quite a few more! - but due to the nature of the medium you have to be quick, to net about 10 decent pics I had to take a total of about 100.

As you can imagine it takes quite a bit of patience, the problem is that you focus in on one area and the fireworks go off in another, so you are constantly moving and re-focusing the camera. The Rockets only last a few seconds so you have to be very quick, and you are constantly adjusting the settings too, so all in all quite difficult to pull off.

so 10 out of 100 pictures isn't that bad compared to the 10000 pictures "Young" girls take on a night out and put 7 online!

Not all girls... (i can't wait for someone to snap at this comment)

I really do adore nighttime photography and yours remind me of wallpapers i used to download. Have you got a website in which you hot your pictures at?
