    Problem with my mums corsa HELP

    right mother broke down at the motorway services. car just stalled then wouldnt start again. waited 15 minutes, started it, then spluttered and cut out 15 seconds later. same thing happens every 15 minutes. RAC couldnt read the fault codes as their reader was not comaptible with my mums corsa. its a x12xe engine in a 1999 corsa b. can i do a paperclip test on this engine?

    RAC bloke thinks its either the crank sensor or the ecu is nackered.

    thanks guys

    should be able to do paperclip test, my money is on either cranksensor or trouble with the crank sprocket causing cranksensor to read erratic. both issues fairly common on the x12 unit. try the crank sensor first

    ok little update;
    eml wont come on so there is no codes to read. still does the same, starts fine then eventually cuts out.

    We had this problem on my 1.5 td corsa, turned out to be a crank sensor. Car fired up for about 0.75 seconds, then died pathetically.
