    cdti sri cambelt interval

    hi
    im now joining the world of diesel power, i have a zafira gsi which is going up for sale due to the purchase of a 56plate astra sri cdti 1.9
    could anyone tell me what the cambelt servive interval is?
    astra has covered 54k and is a 56plate

    i think the service interval on a diesel is 100k or 10 years..

    the water pumps are to be kept an eye on as few people have had issues with them after 40k and while doing that you may as well do teh cam belt anyways!

    would always go for 40k on this car as it has big waterpump issues. so pump and belt every 40k will keep this engine alive for a long time

    the reason they recommend this is because they hope to get the repair work when the waterpump shears and takes the belt with it, £800 in their pockets. the belts to be fair are fairly good on this engine, it is the waterpumps that let it down
