    Smile Should I?

I need a diesel, got a new job that means i need to cover 300 miles a week.

I've found the following which looks good. Need a loan over 2 and a half to 3 years so need to know if it will last the length of the loan without screwing me outta my pay rise.....

    Cheers in advance ..........

Is full cost of the loan (including interest) going to be less than the extra fuel costs from your current car? If so then absolutely go deisel - personally I think that Golf is a little expensive for a 9 year old car though.

As Sten said - unless it is really cheaper to buy a new car, stick with the one you have. You may save £50 a month on fuel, but that's pointless if it's costing you £150 a month to buy the car

Well the loan is going to be 2k. I'm hoping my car will fetch 2k also and I have some savings.

I would almost agree with the 4.5k is high for a nine yo car but i've spent ages looking on autotrader and you get tired of looking after a while!!

Any other cars you can think of for 4.5k?

Maybe I need to just get on with it and just mod my astra.

Think why I'm so looking for a new car is because I'm getting bored of my astra ....

You should still be returning decent mpg from the astra you have, I'd stick with it. Although you say you maybe getting bored you may need to do something slight to it just to get you to fall back in love!
