    Windscreen & Insurance

Ive had a crack appear on my windscreen over the weekend so ive decided to go through insurers to get a new screen. I rang them today and its gonna cost me £60 excess. Im getting if fit tomorrow but the only thing i forgot to ask on phone was when and where do i pay the excess? Do i give it to the window fitters? Can anyone thats done this please tell me.

window fitters should sort it all out, just make sure your insurance company approve the fitter

Ahh cheers mate. It was my insurance company that got the window fitter to ring me so it should be all good.

Won't effect NCB. Just make sure you take your insurance cover note with you to the windscreen company. IIRC I payed the window company, would imagine you would do the same otherwise your insurance company would have taken the cash off you when you phoned them up.

Was told it wouldn't affect NCB, Windscreen didn't get replaced on tuesday due to new screen arriving with scratches I'm getting it done at my work the window company are coming back tomorrow and yeah I've been told to have my £60 excess with me they didn't say anything about having cover note with me though.

When I had mine done, they wanted to see the cover note. But that was to prove I had windscreen cover + to show what excess they need to charge.
As you did yours via the insurance company you might not need cover note as your ins company would have explained it all to them. Taking it with you anyway is just the safe option
