    HID's help please!

Ok, so ive had my hid's for a while now, which i originally fitted to my projector angel eyes in my mk4 astra. I recently decided to change my headlights to gsi ones and put my hid's in them.. All done and so i thought i would go and make sure the beam pattern was all set up and correct, but my local garage said there is no beam pattern from the lights?? has anyone els had this?

Is there a correct way the bulbs should b eg: the little needle like bit on the bulb, is there a set position for this?

    Help appreciated guy's

Youll need h7r bulbs if not fitted to projector headlights mate

Thats because the lights are too bright, standard lights dont give a beam pattern as they are reflector lights, h7r do naff all, mine failed mot with h7r's, bottom line is a decent mot garage would fail them.

Erm... nope!! Brightness has nothing to do with it. It's because the reflector is designed to distrubute light from a specific point within the headlamp. When you fit HID bulbs (H7 or H7R) the light source will be in a different place. This means that the light will go all over the place, and will not be reflected correctly. You can counter this a little by messing with the headlight adjusters, but you'll never get a correct beam pattern.
