Cooling Fan causing Engine Management light to come on

Hi folks, got a wee problem with my car, wondering if anyone knows what it could be.

Just bought an 05 Astra 1.8 16v Design, when the engine reaches operating temperature, and the cooling fan cuts in, it keeps bringing the engine management light on, each time the ignition is switched off and back on again the light stays off until the fan comes on again the next time and then the light comes back on,

I took it back to the supplying dealer who replaced the cooling fan under warranty but the problem is still occuring with the new fan fitted.

any ideas what it could be?

Try doing the pedal test, there's loads of threads on here telling you how to do it, then post the results here

Could be a faulty relay or resistor.

ok, did the pedal test earlier:

in the display where my trip mileage and total mileage is usually displayed, it came up:

    ECN
    148106

then after that it came up

    ECN
    000000

and my engine management light flashed once, paused, flashed 4 times, paused, flashed 8 times, paused, flashed once then that was it so guessing from that its 1481?

what does this ECN thing mean in my mileage display? and what does code 1481 mean is wrong?

The ecn number is exactly the same number as the fault code the ecu light flashed, we just ignore the last 2 digits

1481 is engine coolant blower motor relay number 1 faulty or the wiring to it, i'd stat by replacing the relay K11_X125 in the picture below

Hi everybody ... I saw this thread few minutes ago.
I've got that problem too, or a kind of... it's ECN 148304. Something about the cooling fan, and ECN 162557 something about the relay supply power fault.
Is it lead to the previous problem??
Because if it's lead to another relay, I need to know which of these I've to change...
Sorry for my English... I'm italian. Please help me 'cause on italian websites I found anything

K13_X125 is the relay that relates to the first error code. I can't find the second error code
