    Regal Intercooler

Hi all, I have a astra sri turbo and I have got a Regal intercooler (side mount) just wondering if it is a straight forward swap for the the standard intercooler?

Have you not considered a front mount? The standard intercooler is fairly large but is in a crap position with very little airflow so is pretty inefficient, an upgraded side mount may improve matters slightly but it's still in a crap position.

But yes, it's pretty much a straight swap...

I've had both smic and now fmic. The route the air takes from the turbo to inlet is better with a smic but as mentioned most of the cooler is hidden due to where it's fitted.

smic is still good for around 300bhp

Depends on what power you want to run.... There are people on here with SMIC running 270bhp+ so it is more than upto the task.... However, the majority seem to heading for front mounts..... depends on your requirements really............. My SMIC is due to go on shortly.....

well i have just taken the bumper off and the cross brace which is behind the bumper. I tried to take the standard intercooler off but the bolt that holds the cooler on is just spinning and i cant get to the back of it with anything to stop it. any ideas?

My SMIC went on today... I must say I was am really pleased... a Big Thanks must really go to LMD as he done the majority of the work..... Back to Red.Dot for me now to have my Remap Tweaked...

PM LMD for advice on your SMIC...... He may have a few possible solutions for you...
