Car failed today
"Rear brake application uneven" - Which they've provisionally quoted at £27.50
"Exhaust Emissions incorrect" - They've quoted labour @ £49.99 to investigate!
- Are they just quoting me for new brake shoes?? (might explain the rubbing from the rear, I thought maybe it was bearings)
My TAX runs out this month, so need to get an MOT ASAP!
- Now, the car did sound a bit blowy from the exhaust, nothing major, I guessed at baffles gone again, didn't expect the fail. Could this be the cat that's broken down? Causing my emissions fail? If so what would be the cost of a new cat and is it something I can do myself? If not cat what else could it be, they mentioned an air leak?!?!
Oh, do I void a retest by doing this work myself??
