Have a look in the guides for best product to use on a red astra and its probably best not to blast your engine but a carefull wash is no probs use some detailing brushes and some APC jobs a goodun

You can PW your engine, cover up any exposed electrical connectors and any cone filters and use a wide spray, from a distance.

As for products, to get the red back with some elbow grease try some Dodo Juice Lime Prime, then make sure you finish with a decent UV protective wax, such as Orange Crush, or Pete's 53 to stop it from fading.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

finish kare 1000p is good value for money , its a sealant but used the same as a wax , has uv blockers so should stop the nasty pink effect also is longlasting so u wont have to wax every month just a quick wash and a mist of quick detailer should bring it up to a just waxed finish
