    Headlight switch

Hi guys, I am new here so please bear with me

I have just purchased a 57 plate Astra SRI. One thing I want to know is the headlight switch, you can press it in, but nothing appears to happen.

On my old corsa, this used to turn the interior light on and off if the door was open.

    Please advise

push the knob in and turn it to the right i think and it unhooks the switch unit from the dash (so u can remove it) - thats the only function of it plus saves having screws showing

    Light switch

On the Astra H the interior light is turned on using the switch in the roof console....If you have additional map reading lights fitted in the roof(higher spec models only, I think) they should also have switches in the roof console. The vehicle main light switch is a rotary control only for the exterior lights,as previously mentioned you should only push the switch in if you want to remove it from the dashboard.

Hope that's of use to you.Peter

Many thanks Peter (and others), it does remove it . Is there a way of turning the interior light off when the door is open or not?

I have the map reading lights and normal light switches in the roof, but they will not turn the light off if I have the door open and do not want it on
