Astra coupe turbo Vs Civic Type R

Been having heated discussions with my mate who is getting a remap on the same day as me. He thinks his civic is going to thrash the coupe after the map. Hes looking at 250ish bhp after the map, and im looking at around the 250mark (fingers crossed). My argument is i will have more torque and his arguement is that he will have more revs. Who would win in a drag race?

a CTR wont get to 250 bhp with just a remap, infact to get 250 from a n/a 2.0L it will need a serious amount of modification.

Mid range and beyond the coupe will give it a fright, below that it'd be pretty close. The Civic has absolutely no torque at all so will need worked extremely hard, the Astra should have the grunt to win. Torque wins races, not bhp.

higher revs only mean you change up a bit later...

IMO, in drag racers where cars are evenly matched, it all comes down to the drivers and who can change gear at the right time... there shouldnt be much in it, though in theory, astra should win.
