Lightbulb Total vauxhall - Your Thoughts and Opinions - March 2010

A post from Coo (John) has just reminded me of something that I have been meaning to do for some time - cheers John

Dougie the Editor from Total Vauxhall late last year asked me my thoughts and opinions of Total Vauxhall. Dougie has recently been made editor of the Magazine and in my opinion has already done a lot to make it millions times better than it was. With everything though and being a good editor feed back is essential as they have no real form of feed back.

So rather than just myself give feed back I thought it would be good for all the readers of magazine give it. This will give a big cross reference of views of what is good and whats not etc. So please be aware that we all have different views, tastes, likes and dislikes.

It can be on any aspect of the magazine, things that may be worth thinking about:

    • Style and layout of magazine
    • Type of Car Features
    • Editorials of Features
    • Photography style and pictures used
    • Type of Other features
    • How good are the Technical Articles
    • Do you like the coverage of the Events and Shows
    • What do you want to see more or less off?
    • What works or doesn't work in the magazine?

These are just suggestions of areas you can input on, so please feel free to add what you want

Please keep your posts factual and constructive. Any posts that do not come across in this manor will be deleted without warning!

First and fore most be very greatfull we have a Vauxhall magazine and an editor that wants to improve it and make it better! If possible!

I dont read the mag all the time, but do buy it sometimes. All id say is that I would like to see more "realistic" cars, not "iv put 15k into a car" etc etc, just some nice smart cars that havnt cost the world to get looking that way would be good.

Id buy it a lot more if it had just smart but not daft £ spent modding the cars.....

yea i agree with dan in a sense !alot more cars that are possible for somebody on adverage income to be able to afford to do and 2 big features on high power cars/expensive cars , i have always liked the tech bits in the mag and also decent adverts that are relivent to cars not pointless ones that just bring in cash

Last months issue was a 'modding on a budget' or something along those lines. IMO TV quite often has cars that could be replicated for lowish costs. Unlike something like fast car which would have complete show cars with thousands & thousands spent on them (or at least thats how it used to be, not looked at FC for years now)

i buy it every now and again, i have to say, i dont really enjoy reading it... even though im a massive vauxhall fan, they dont seem to satisfy my ego. i want to see vauxhalls beating fords to death lol i mean surely, if you are a brand specific mag, you should be more biased towards vaxs.

but havent bought since christmas, might buy one. will let you know

I'd like to see some articles more like bringing a car back to life as such.

Like sat under a tree or something and restored it to its former glory, if not more.

There is loads of Turbo'd cars always in there, all very samey I reckon

I'd like to see some non turbo cars that are smart and just not based on the engine, and some like, "borught as a heap for 400 and now a smart restored car!
Back in an astra and loving it

yea after all its not all about power to everybody there might be some really smart 1.4's that a 17 year old has been doing looks class but doesnt have to power as his insurance would be through roof i would enjoy reading about how he got the car to its current state
