A turbo conversion properly set up will probably cost just as much as buying a GSI..... So I'd say GSI

If its got pistons or tits, its gonna be expensive!!

does insurance effect you if you do get the gsi?

if it does, then obviously putting a turbo on your 1.6 would be more logical and more fun i think.

but if insurance isnt an issue, Gsi everyday...

But putting a turbo on a 1.6 would affect insurance just as much becuase youd inform the insurance company of course otherwise your not covered!

Personally id go for the GSI. Everything on the car is designed to go with the engine and the power that way and you dont have to worry about what components youve forgotten to uprate.

A turbo'd 1.6 will be far more to insure than a standard gsi turbo. Think the 1.6 needs a full complete engine rebuild and is still only good for 190bhp after, whereas gsi's have reached 500bhp or so.
