Thumbs Down Windows steaming up !!!!

Hi guys, Ive recently purchased a mk4 1.6 sxi with air-con and im having problems with the windows steaming up quite badly? When the air-con is on the heaters and blowers all work fine, but as soon as I turn the ac off all the windows steam up really badly

Ive had the glove box out and have checked the pollen filter but that is fine, a little dirty but not damp.

    Any help much appreciated.

Change the pollen filter anyway, it's the usual cause of this problem. Also worth checking there is no build up of leaves etc around the air intake scuttle

Changed the pollen filter on mine as had the same problem

It was all black & what not.

Didn't change the problem though. Windows still mist up, especially rear window. All others mist up, just not as bad as the rear

Cheers guys. Will change the pollen filter anyway but I dont think its going to stop the problem, only make it slighlty less worse.

You got recirculating air on? That'll steam it up, turn it to fresh air and that'll help!!

Not sure if the same applies but, In my corsa I had the same problem. Had a leak of some sorts within the heater matrix.. , worth taking a look for any sort of issues with the matrix. As soon as that was changed, windows NEVER steamed up again =]

there are some threads about the recirc sticking on even when switched off. If you run the heater fan on fast and then hit the recirc switch there is a noticable change in the note of the fan. If there is no change, then it could be stuck. Not sure, but I think you can see it after taking the glove box out. Use the search to check for previous threads.
