    astra g clock info wanted

    can someone tell me if the instument panel clocks in a 1.6 1999 astra g be changed to other astra g clocks like sri ones as the 1.6 dont have dont have rev count and the sri one do will they work or not????????????

    They clocks should fit in no problem, but don't expect the rev counter to work. Think it's something to do with your engine computer or something. One of the more technically minded members will be able to tell you a little more.

    coupe turbo clocks work fine on a 1.6 if that helps you

    Yeah they are a straight swap, i did this on my mk4, rev counter will work fine as well. Only issue is the mileage is stored in the clocks so you will get the mileage of the new clocks you are putting in displayed. Can either just live with it or there are plenty of places that will correct it for you.

    Should be ok, as mentioned above the only difference will be the mileage as it is stored on the clocks.

    i had the single clocks like you that just show speed, went to a scrappy and go a set of clocks with rev and speedo, 7k redline and same speed (130mph) and plug and play, the rev counter worked as soon as i started the car up no problems at all! was a 1.6 8v X16SZR

    Exactly same here, the same engine as yours and i tried types of clocks coupe, petrol and diesel with 6k and they all work incl diesel ones even though i got told it wouldn't.
