    cam belt

    hi if i have the cambelt /timeing belt changed what other parts should i change and on average how much would i garage charge for this and would it be best to have a service at the same time ???

    hey i would get water pump done as well as to do the belt the same parts have to come off to do the water pump price wise every where has a different price main dealers will 9 times of 10 rip you off i went to a local garage for water pump and cambelt on 1.6 sxi cost i think it was £240 not 100% just give few garages a ring,
    on the service part you could but depends how much money you got hope that helps. liam

    i think they do it as part of the kit i would just double check thou be on safe side

    just had mine done today new waterpump, cambelt, tensioners and bottom pully all included in the kit

    200 quid all in, genuine parts a mate fitted them, seems reasonable price

    i am half way through doing my cam belt change and my tensior has sprung open how do i close them again????

    you don't, get another tensioner or it may well spring open again but when the car is running and that would be nasty
