    fitting steering wheel sound control

    Hi all,
I own an Astra 2005 1.8 petrol. My car doesn't have a steering wheel control and no original radio in it.
I found a pannel which I can buy for good price with original radio but I wish to fit a steering wheel control over it.

Do I need to change the entire steering wheel or the buttons can be pulled off from a wheel of a car that was involved in an accident and not going to see the roads ever again?

    Thanks,
    Erez

on a mk4 i know you have to have the steering wheel with the controls because its cut into the wheel and if you dont have the controls you probably wont have the wiring for it but if you take the airbag off you can make sure if your car has it it will be a loose connector in there. i have heard of it being hard wired in but i dont know anything about that hth
