best way to clean an intercooler?

just in the process of changing my turbo due to it leaking oil everywere, now all the pipes both before and after intercooler have thick black oil in them, and would think intercooler will have a layer of oil in bottom looking at how all the pipes are.

what the best way of cleaning out the intercooler and pipe work?

    many thanks ben.

    Petrol or carb cleaner

Obv leave for a few hours after it's been fully dried to make sure no petrol or residue is left. That's what I've done on many intercoolers.

The bottom of my intercooler looks like it has a bit of oil in it.
    Is this normal?

I think the IC hasn't been changed or cleaned in 120,000 mles.
