    SMIC Mounting Guide

Couple of people have been asking about the mounting points when fitting a SMIC. Hopefully this will help. (All measurements are from the head of the E10 bolts, to the tip. Also, E10 bolts can be different widths, these are approximately 5mm).

This is the bottom of the SMIC. The metal strip on the bottom of the radiator has to be turned 90degrees to give a flat edge for the SMIC to sit on. An E10 bolt 17mm is needed here.

This is the top SMIC mounting point. This is the original mounting point used by the standard intercooler. E10 bolt 21mm.

    Upper Mount Passenger Side.

    Upper Mount Drivers Side.

    With Bolt Removed

By removing the headlights you gain better access to the top mounts.

Because the radiator has been moved back using EDS Brackets at the bottom, the radiator top mounts are now further away from their mounting position. Longer E10 bolts are needed, 47mm. In addition, a strong piece of hose is needed to act as a spacer between the two mounting points.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

As far as colour is concerned i do not know. Courtenay and Regal both did a SMIC, mine being a Regal (EDS) one.

The only difference on mine, is that the inlet has a larger diameter than the standard pipe, which meant i had to buy a reducer pipe to get it to fit.
