    help please,cant get front discs off

    hi guys just replacing discs and pads and i cant get the disc off the hub,nothing is holding it retaining screw is off,but it will not budge,been kissing it with a hammer,wd40 etc removed caliper and caliper carrier,but it will not pop off!!!!
    if i wanted to be right all the time i would change my title to mrs ledster

    got to do this job to the front and rear of a zaf this afternoon..as long as retaining screw is out nothing else except rust should be holding it...give it a good banging all around...the disc ....when you put it back on, put a light smear of copper grease between disc and disc holder..

    think its been sitting in the sea!! retaining screw is out and it will not move,been on it for a hour now,used some heat,shed loads of wd40 and brute force,for an easy job its turning into a night mare!!
    if i wanted to be right all the time i would change my title to mrs ledster

    exactly i did my rear brakes a few days ago.

    get a hammer and between each srew hole give the disk a good whack to shake it up a little. now get the hammer from behind and a give it a good one the disk will fall off.

    If you have a rubber hammer its best, a few hard hits around the edge of the disc should break any rust seal.

    well its off,took 4 hours, of on off work and tools required to remove were,hammer,cold chisel,crow bar,wd40,blow torch,8 cups of tea,1 mate to lend a hand,other side took 5 mins,have put new discs and pads on using copper grease,so lets hope in 25000 miles!!oh and when i say kissing it each hammer blow was leaving a gouge in the disc..
