    Trailing arm bushes?

    Hey all.

I have a knocking in the back end of my Estate.

Although I'm in the process of collecting parts to sort the problem at the weekend, someone mentioned to be about the rear trailing arm bushes...

What it is, if I go over a bump or pot hole, theres a knock... I've checked the exhuast, and its not that, thats knocking.

I am getting new shocks and springs today, so ready to fit the weekend, I've also got new anti-roll bar links for the front (incase its just reverbarating to the back)...

But whats the likelyhood the trailing arm bushes have gone? and can I get them from places like Uni-Part or are the a Vaux only part?

    Ta.

the rear axle has bushes where it joins to the chassis

i have a brand new pair lying about if u need them - let me know

u do however need to remove the rear beam and press the bushes out - either with a large hydraulic press or devise a heath robinson style contraption with long coach bolts, washers and nuts

wait till the new springs are on - together with new drop links and it may have gone

i had a few strange knocks over the years - one was a loose rear shock absorber bolt - the other was down to the brake bias valve and spring assembly (non ABS models only) - cleaning up the spring and regreasing it cured the knocking - no idea why or how but it worked!

    Awesome.

I hope it's not the bushes. But if you push the back up and down, you can hear it knocking.

Anything worth doing while everythings going to be apart?
