    Electric Windows

Yeah I know, yet another electric window conversion thread .

What does the loom for electric windows look like? Does it have a plug, and does anyone have a pic of this?

Also, what will I need, in laymans terms to convert windy fronts to electric.

    I'm assuming:

    Door Cards
    Switches
Loom (if it's there, if not then what/how much will I need?)
    Motors

Is there any kind of linkage, or is this all attached to the motor?

Unfortunately I've not had the fortune to come across the inside of a MK4 front door with electric windows, so am not entirely sure what I need...

    Sorry to be a pest

I'll be surprised if you find the looms but in the drivers door you'll be looking for a 6 way connector near the speaker behind the plastic membrain and a 6 way connector on top of the membrain

The parts you need if this wiring isn't there depends on whats on the rest of the car as there's 4 wiring looms needed to get the electric windows working. To find if you have the other wiring looms check you have pins in both side of the fuse postion and check for a thick red and a thick brown wire in the drivers door grommet. If you don't the above you can hard wire it in with 2 new door looms

The motor and linkage are all as one

If it's pre-wired you will find a plug like this near the handle, it's for the switch.

There will be a plug like this inside the door, for the motor.

Yeah that's spot on thanks very much mate.

How hard would it be to rewire if I don't have the looms? Is it chopping and changing the door loom or going from the dash down inc fuse box etc?

Chopping wires, drilling door grommets, running some wires from door to do and some to the fuse box for lives etc.
