help car spluettering after changing lambda

    hi
I have just changed my pre cat lambda on my 03 gsi and now the car is spluttering and coughing below 2k and when first started it just kept stalling.

this is the way i changed the lambda

    i first disconnected battery,

then removed old sensor from clip and undid.

Then fitted new in tightened up and replaced clip.

connected battery and fired up was ok little lumpy so thought id take it for a spin,

waited for it to warm up as normal then sarted to give it some still fine come to next junction coughing and spluttering and seemed to want to stall.

left it 10 mins and still bad like its missfiring.

so i cleaned connectors with some wd40 dried re connected and still same

i bought exactly the same bosch lambda not a cheapo one checked connectors are the same (which they are) so im a little stumped no fault codes coming up as yet just running shit.

any ideas????? poss dodgy lambda might take out new lambda give it a clean. any ideas welcome

    Cheers Chris

Possibly mate, stick the ond one back in and see if the issues you have go back to how they were before you changed it
